“Adventures In Attitudes” was a six week staff development course in which participants were required to keep a daily journal of how they use their positive attitude each day. As I read my journal, it was as if it was yesterday. Almost every day I had found a quote and put it at the top of each page of the journal. At the end of the course we had to list six goals and a plan for each to reach our “Pathway to Success”. It never ceases to amaze me how one needs that little extra boost of self-confidence and reminders to “Think Positive” throughout our lives.

As I read my summary of almost 18 years, I find I can apply the same principle goals today. This is where SDAEOP has helped me tremendously. I look forward to our helpful, invigorating, uplifting area inservices each year! I thoroughly believe these area inservices keep us going. Most of all, I look forward to conference time. It’s a time for renewing friendships, laughter, learning, and fun!

If you have not been involved with SDAEOP before, come on in and see what we are all about.

Some of my favorite quotes:

“Drive yourself like one drives a car, cautiously, but forward.”

“Set your goals high and persevere.”

“People who set goals are happier than others who don’t.” Think BIG!!

“All things are possible if you believe in it.”

“Anything the mind can conceive and believe can be accomplished.”

“The secret of life is not to do what you like but like what you do!”

“Behind every problem is an opportunity.”

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.”

“What you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for others lives forever.”

“If we live what we learn we’ll be better, positive people.”

“People make mistakes, that’s why pencils have erasers.”

“What you are is God’s gift to you, what you become is your gift to God and yourself!”

“Learners shall inherit the earth while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to go out into a world that does not exist.”

“Actions speaks louder than words.”

“Success is never final. Failure is never fatal!”

“I can't help the way I feel right now, but I can help the way I think and act.”

“To the extent that you give others what they want, will they give you what you want.”

“He who angers you, conquers you!”

“People are like gifts. Find out what’s inside!”

“It’s better to make a decision that’s wrong, than to make none at all.”
